This loop has 3 turns of insulated wire plus one turn for
the coupling. The loop is tuned with a variable capacitor
The degree of coupling is set with a second variable
capacitor in series with the output. Loop area is 5 sq ft
(0.46 sq m).
It tunes 160 and 80 metres.

This is a medium wave loop. It was made to boost the
signal to a portable receiver for weak stations. The
receiver is stood on the platform and the 8 turn loop
then couples with the ferrite aerial. It does tend to
cause overloading on the more sensitive sets. Loop area
is approx. 1sq ft (0.093 sq m).
